About me
Selin Ilgaz is a specialist in neuroscience and a mindfulness and movement teacher. She holds a degree in psychology and a master’s degree in clinical and cognitive neurosciences from universities in France and the United Kingdom. She has combined her academic background with mind–body practices, deepening her path through meditation since 2014, Vipassana retreats, and extensive training in yoga, mindfulness and dance.

Through her training at the Institute for Mindfulness-Based Approaches (IMA) in Germany and the Mindful Academy Solterreno in Spain, she qualified as both an instructor and a supervisor in the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program. In 2019, she also completed a yoga teacher training program. In addition, she has recorded the Turkish versions of the meditations from the books of Jon Kabat-Zinn and Mark Williams. Her strong personal practice, combined with her academic expertise in clinical neurosciences, enables her to bring both scientific and experiential perspectives to her work.

To further expand her integrative approach, she has pursued additional training in Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Narrative Therapy, and an introduction to Dance Therapy. Influenced by somatic psychology, polyvagal theory, theater, contemporary dance, and yoga, her approach is holistic, addressing the emotional, somatic, and relational dimensions of human experience. In 2021, she co-founded MindCare Academy, contributing to the dissemination of high-quality mindfulness and compassion-based training programs in Turkey.

In her one-on-one sessions with adults and adolescents, Selin emphasizes connecting with inner resources, cultivating body awareness, and creating a compassionate relational space.
​
As a mother of two, she also provides polyvagal-informed guidance for individuals wishing to explore their parenting experience.
​
One-on-one counselling sessions with Selin are available online or in person in Istanbul. Selin provides sessions in Turkish, French and English.
